Whatever you anticipate of Kanye West, the absolution of his sixth anthology is a big deal. I'm absolutely biased, I've already listened to the anthology apparently two dozen times, and "Blood on the Leaves" is an aboriginal favorite.
The song samples Nina Simone's "Strange Fruit" and horns from TNGHT's "RU Ready." It's a dark, askance account of betrayal, breach up, and oh yeah, MDMA. The allegory mix of Simone's affecting burden and the upbeat bounce of the horns is infectious, and it fits in with that adverse Kanye persona we've appear to apperceive and adulation or maybe hate. As it goes with the Konman, you accept to admiration if he's talking about his own experiences, or just cogent a tale. (Look out for the Beyonce/Jay-Z name checks in the endure verse). Doesn't absolutely amount to me! Can't stop listening, either way. [Spotify, iTunes, Amazon]
